Silicon Strips

Has anyone used silcon strips to help limit scarring?  I'll be getting a breast and arm lift on the 12th so any tips on healing, and comfort after surgery are greatly appreciated!

   Yes, I used the silicone strips and I really liked them!  I purchased the large sheet and then cut what I needed according to the incisions.  I used them for the TT w MR on the lower abdomen and on the breasts as well.  I still had some left over and used them for a scare revision.  I feel they work well when used correctly.  Just follow the instructions.  I think you should get yourself ready by having plenty of protein items available and a comfy chair with plenty of pillow for the arms.  I think you should do well if you follow your surgeon's advice as well.. Thanks Karen!  I went ahead and ordered the sheets and a lollipop shaped pair for the breasts. I think I am ready to go with protein and hopefully my couch will be comfy enough since the living room chair I have probably won't be.  I appreciate you answer...about 36 hours to go!

They work well, especially if used at the first signs of scat thickening.  They are not good for wide scars, but for keloid and hypertrophic ones.

I advise patients to wear them 24/7 if they can.  And if they can ge them to stay put !

A new product called NewGel+ just came out...thinner and stickier.  I really like it, and it comes in all kinds of shapes and colors !

Not sure if it's available in the U.S. at retail places yet.

They had many brands but the reviews sounded better for these.  My breast and arm lift was Weds and I am feeling good.  Best wishes with your surgery.
