I just used ace bandages.

ETA:  I think one of the reasons that you will find ace bandages used so much is that they are very forgiving when it comes to swelling.  One can easily make them tighter or looser depending on how much swelling you have.

My surgeon sent me home wrapped in Ace Bandages but then I switched to my compression sleeves (I like them better).  They liked them so much they asked me for the info and are thinking of using them for future patients....who knows if they really do....

Have you scheduled a Lymph massage?

Yes I have an appointment for a lymph massage on Tuesday....can't wait.   LOL - this morning almost all the swelling was gone in my feet....BUT I did a bike ride and am only wearing the reg compression garment (not the compression pantyhose) so i expect it to be back by tonight and even more after my bike ride tomorrow.  Won't it be funny if now that after all this time the swelling finally ends just as I have the massage appointment?   Even if I have only a very little swelling on Tuesday I will still go....can't hurt and might just feel good.

I used ace bandages for about 2 weeks and then switched to compression garments for the next few weeks. My dr wanted me to use one or the other for 6 weeks. Like the other poster posted, the ace wraps are forgiving for those first few days when the swelling is at its worst.
