Finally, No More Stitches!!

I had my 7 week visit to the doc this morning and after ALL the problems I've had with my thighs, he finally removed the last 8 stitches.  For those not familiar with my story:  I had thigh lift, brachio and upper body lift done 7 weeks ago.  Well, arms and back healed up like they were supposed to but my darn thighs had a mind of their own.  I was popping stitches and had open incisions EVERYWHERE!  Everytime I went in for a visit, he would re-stitch an area only to have another area open up somewhere else.   It was very frustrating and quite painful to try and function normally with stitches all the way around my groin on both legs.

Now that they are finally almost healed up, the swelling has started!  At this point, I'll take the swelling anyday over those annoying stitches.  All in all, I'm finally almost back to normal.  I'll probably be having a small revision done on my arms and some minor lipo on my outer thighs and the knee area.  He said he could do those in the office in about 6 months.

Thanks Melissa for letting me whine and vent during this whole process.  I appreciate all the support I've received from you and everybody on this forum.  I guess now I'm ready to post some pics.

It's so good to hear that you have progressed wonderfully, and that your body is healing and that you are pleased with your results.  I had to have a little revision to my brachio also, and I've heard that it's quite common.

All the best to you and I can't wait to see those post-op pictures.  they are always so encouraging.  I'm praying that one day I will be able to possibly get my thighs done, along with a full tt, and some work done for the extra skin in my back area - God willing.  :)

Always,
Rose

So glad things are looking up for you.
Recovery is not fun.....Plastic surgery is not for the faint of heart for sure.

Stay well.

Congrats on getting the rest of your sutures out! Sorry to hear about the swelling. Swelling is no fun! Hope it is minimum and doesn't last long. Best to you on your continued recovery!

Ruth is right. I find the recovery from my extended TT, scar revision, lipo and breast lift MUCH MORE CHALLENGING than my recovery from RNY, or the two "complication" surgeries I had to have!

I'm almost 4 weeks out and still feel like crap! I'm tired of my back hurting from bruises/itching from healing/feeling numb from lipo all at the same time! I'm tired of my tight, tight, TIGHT abdominal muscle feeling like they're tearing when I go from sitting to standing and vice versa. I'm tired of feeling like my stitches are gonna pop when the swelling increases.

I'm just TIRED.......

Rant over.

To the OP: I'm glad you finally seem to be on the mend! In my mind, legs and arms would be the worse...thank goodness mine aren't too bad, 'cuz there's no way in HELL I"d be going back any time soon!   ETA: I just noticed our original surgery dates are only ONE DAY AWAY! How funny is that?!? We're "surgery sisters"!

You're so welcome! I'm so glad that you finally got those stitches out too. I know it was such a pain to deal with but I knew you'd finally get here! It was so nice to meet you last time and you really do look great. Dr Iz won't do any tweaking on me until 6 months too and I want him to do them NOW! Just because I'm feeling well doesn't mean we are totally healed on the inside so he is just being cautious. Guess we have to be patient!

Congratulations to you.  I have been following your story cause my arms and thighs are coming up on the 10th of June!!

Isn't it wonderful when you start turning those corners of healing!!  Continued healing!

Thanks to all for the well wishes.  I just have to laugh though because I discovered another stitch the other night that he missed somehow and now I have to wait until next Thursday to get it taken out cause the doc is going out of town.

I swear I had sooo many stitches that he lost count.  This was hidden away deep in the back of the groin area.   I'm laughing because I looked like Frankenstein down there....here a stitch, there a stitch, everywhere a stitch, stitch.

I'm sure I'll look back on this whole ordeal and laugh someday.
