My arms look great BUT be REALLY, REALLY, REALLY careful about incision placement. Mine are too far back and I'm so self-conscious of them, I can only wear 3/4 length sleeves. Make SURE placement is well inside the arms. Also, be very careful not to stretch them too much because scars widen and thicken from stretching. I develop hypertropic scarring and I have had laser treatments on my arms for the past year. They are still red and thick. I love the definition in my arms but hate the fact that I cannot wear tank tops without something over them. Recovery isn't bad but, as stated, be careful not to overdo and stretch the incisions.

Personally, I much prefer the scars (which are visible, but are not obvious) to the 3 inches of hanging skin I had!  Recovery varies a LOT from person to person.  I had a lot of pain, especially in the armpits, but some people have very little pain.  Swelling (how much and for how long) also varies quite a bit.

I am 3 weeks out. Pain was totally manageable. I did not have lipo which I think made my receovery easy compared to some.

I would do it again anyday!
I had lipo and my arms burned for many weeks post op - the incision pain was minimal

 - my body doesn't scar well so the scars on my right  arms are rather wide and purple BUT with all of that said - I would do it again anytime!  My arms were the worst!  28inches around and I lost 5lbs from just my arms!  The scars are bad - they can be hidden the big flapping skin couldn't ever be hidden!

I knew going in that I scar bad - my Lap Band scar is still purple and wide, BUT I didn't really care!

Teresa,
I had my brachioplasty 2 years ago, and I have pretty significant keloid scarring on my arms, and have no regrets! I had huge "bat wings" and was very self conscience. I would only wear 3/4 length sleeves...quite uncomfortable in the summer months. Over the past 2 years, the scars have lightened up, but for me the benefits have out weighed the scars.
