Pre-Surgery jitters

Man, I have been through sugery 3 times before, but I never stop getting these crazy jitters.  Nerves can be a pain in the ass!!!!

Anyone have a brachioplasty that can settle my nerves for me???  I don't know why I am so nervous.  It's not the needles or anesthesia or even the pain I'm most worried about.............It's being happy with the results I'm worried about.

I have a GREAT surgeon.....but I'm just so worried I won't be satisfied with the results of the surgery.

HELP!

HI!
I've had every procedure available!
Being nervous is normal....happened to me before every procedure.
I was never too worried about liking the results, I guess because I pretty much felt it had to be better than my "before" condition.  BUT, I definitely wanted to have good results, nice incisions, etc.  Maybe it's partially because I was very confident in my surgeons skills/artistry but realistic to know sometimes things don't come out 100% like we want.  I actually have that right now with the back of my thighs but I'm confident my surgeon will come up with a plan to correct it.  I see him tomorrow and it's the first question on my list.

Go in with positive thoughts and keep in the back of you mind that they can do a revision if needed so it normally is not a life long disappointment.

Go into with realistic expectations and let your surgeon know exactly what you are expecting when he marks you so you can  make sure you are on the same page......

Best wishes on your upcoming procedure.  I'm sure you'll do fine and you'll love your results.

I am having a TT, BA & brachioplasy on May 25th - and it is the arms that I am loosing sleep over. I am so worried that I am going to open an incison in my arm pit. I don't know why ~ I just keep thinking about it.

I know how you feel. I am very confident in my PS - but that inciscion into the arm pit - man!! It just keeps me awake!!

I totally agree with what Moosie wrote. Being nervous is very normal. I think all of us have felt/feel this way right before any of our PS. Like she said be very clear to your surgeon as to what your expectations are so there is no misunderstanding. I had a LBL/arm lift on 3/30/10. It was wonderful. I never had any problems whatsoever and I love my results. Make sure you take it easy and get a lot of rest. Moosie gave me a wonderful tip of elevating my arms on two pllows to keep swelling to a minimum. It worked like a charm (thanks Ruth)! I never had any swelling to speak of. I have my preop and post op pics on my profile. I will add you as a friend so you can view them if you want. Wishing you the best.
