I had LBL with anchor cut 2weeks ago Friday. I came thur great very little pain. I got a infection in one of my drain tubes that has now spread to my incision very gross. I have a couple little splits in the incision that have so drainage now.  Can anyone tell me about how long the infection lasts?  I have not  a clue what  to expect and I have heard it is not if but when the incisions are going to split has this been true for any of you guys? this is a little discouraging so any thoughts or experience will be helpful. Thanks to all that reply

Infections can last anywhere from a couple of days to many months.  It depends on all sorts of factors.  What does your surgeon say about it?

It may be a skin issue, or there may be a deeper collection of fluid or pus that needs to come out.  Infected fluid colelctions are quite common after this kind of surgery so be sure your doc gets a look at it ASAP.

Yes go to your Dr. You might need drainage or lancing or antibiotics. I had to have surgery wound vac and antibiotics so take it seriously and get it checked and I hope and pray it's superficial.
