What I'm looking for... Are there any of you who chose to do plastics earlier in the game than suggested? Here's my situation.. I'm at about 230 right now. I used to weigh almost 350 and I'm a flabby mess. I know most plastic surgeons will suggest I wait.. and most likely I will.. but I'm wondering if there is anyone who's had their plastics when they were still overwight and if so, are you happy with the results? I haven't had any sort of consultation yet, so I have no idea what I'm looking at as far as how much skin and fat could be removed.

I am getting into L size shirts now.. My biggest areas at this point are my hips and legs- if that makes any difference to anyone.

Thanks in advance :)

I had my breast lift/reduction at 200 and I will have my tummy tuck at 190

I had a breast reduction/lift done and then lost another 40 lbs.  I wish I had waited because the girls started to sag again so I had to pay for a 2nd Lift.  Twice the expense, 2 recoveries, double down time, etc etc.  And every time there is a revision there is a real risk that things just won't come out as good (re-cutting the same incision open, trying to line up old scars with new, all tricky stuff).

Having gone through this I always advise people to wait until they are at goal or within 5-10 lbs.  I am so glad I waited to have the rest of my surgeries done until I was at my goal.

Not really an answer, but it's worth waiting for. You don't need to be skinny, but you need to be as close to your goal as possible.

I considered getting a tummy tuck before I was done losing weight. My surgeon advised me to just wait. By the time I was done losing weight, that area had shrunk up. While I will still need a tummy tuck, it's obvious that it will be smaller and the scar will be shorter.

They can remove a lot of skin, as they do in the major cases. Only problem is whether or not they can make your body parts look normal or just better. Also, remember that the bigger the surgery, the more expensive it will be.

Most sugeons will not touch you until your 18months out of RNY/LapBand. They will also ask you if your weight has been stable and for how long. If they know that you are still losing lots of weight, they will tell you to wait until your weight is stable for a couple of months.

Keep losing the weight, it will be worth it to wait.

Best of luck to you my friend.

I am still overweight....188 at 5'4. I used to weigh 360. I had a tummy tuck, brachioplasty, side chest skin removal and lipo of the neck. I am scheduled in June for excision of my flanks (Back rolls) and revision on the brachio. I am trying to get 15 more lbs off, but if not, I am okay with it.

I have never been thin....188 is thin for me. I have pics on my profile!
Thanks!
