Back lipo, cost and recovery. What to expect?
Does anyone have an estimate of what back lipo costs? Also, what can I expect as far as pain and recovery? I had a panni and muscle tightening in June of last year and still feel like I have knives in my middle when I cough or have to roll in bed. I guess healing is not as easy as you get older. I am 55 years old. I just read the post before mine talking about back lipo and the pain after 9 weeks. Just great... So much for easy. Thanks for any info, Terry
As too cost, there are some national averges for surgeon fees listed at :http://smartplasticsurgery.com/surgery/costs.html#CS However, remember the numbers listed there do not include any hospital charges, anesthesia or any other misc charges.

As you stated I had back lipo 9 weeks ago and I still have pain and discomfort daily. It's not too bad if I wear my compression garment, which I do 90 percent of the time, but sometimes my husband wants to feel skin at night instead of material. My surgeon charges $2,500 for liposuction, regardless of the area.
Good luck and don't let my issues discourage you from doing what you really want. I would do it all over again if I had to.

Thank you Sherline for your info. I am sorry that you are having a rough go of it. Like I said, my stomach tightening still causes lots of issues and that was done 11 months ago. I am having lipo done on my sides because my tummy tuck done last year is alittle uneven by my upper hips. That will get fixed for free. I figured since I was going for that, I may as well throw in the back, which has driven me crazy forever. I guess I am just being vain, but with no fat on my stomach anymore, it seems to be all in my back now. I hope it all works out.. Terry
I am now 9 weeks out from lipo in several places, including my lower back and hips. I still have to lie down pretty gingerly when i get in bed, if I'm laying straight onto my back. And my husband patted me on my back earlier this week, and I did a sharp intake of breath because it is still so sensitive and hurts. But my clothing doesn't hurt it anymore, and I don't notice it anymore rolling over in bed. I haven't worn any compression garments for the past 6 weeks, per doctors instructions, and I'm doing great from that perspective. It's still kinda lumpy and squishy, which I plan to ask about today when I go for another follow-up with my surgeon. Still 100% worth it!
