Just wondering if the mastopexy is really needed in addition to breast augmentation?

I understand each case would be different but just wanted to know if anyone has contemplated this and what made them decide to do both or just one??

*I have lost 125lbs and maintained for 1.5 yrs.....my breast are not saggy but they have lost the fullness they used to have when I was heavier. I also googled the "pencil test" and passed; the pencil fell.

I have had two different consults and each Dr. recommended the mastoplexy but in the same breath said It wasn't necessary??
Thanks,
Christina

It doesn't "have to be" done but you should discuss with your surgeon....he/she can best advise you if it would be best for you.

I am having a BA/BL, but I requested the lift....I need it! If I were you, look at before and after pics of BA without BL. I use locateadoc.com. They literally have 3500 pics. You can get an idea of what you may look like. Sometimes the implants makes it all better. Sometimes it looks like a bigger saggy boob. Also realize that a heavy implant will cause ptosis(hanging) which may require a lift in the future. My initial thought is to get a 3rd opinion...if 3 PS say you need a lift, you probably do. BUT, it's always your decision, and you can always go back to get it. Hope this helps! Good luck!
