I think my problem is I booked my surgeries way back in November for May 25th - which has given me too much time to fret, pack, plan, worry, etc.

Does all the anxiety go away after the surgery? I am loosing sleep, not feeling well, lots of stuff associated with anxiety. I sure hope I wake up & feel better.

Thanks!!

Yes. You booked way too early. LOL!!! You've had too much time to think. I personally can plan for no more than a month ahead on anything or I will drive myself crazy. Kudos to you for staying sane this long. I would like to say that it will be better after surgery but its different for everyone. If you are a natural worrier then you will certainly find something new to worry about after surgery. Good luck. Everything will be okay.

Yeah - I knew it in November - but back then May seemed like years away!! WE had holidays & birthdays & a cruise - so much else to occupay my thoughts!! Now there is nothing on the agenda except for PLASTIC SURGERY & a trip to Costa Rica!!

And yes - I am an over planner ~ not so much a worrier - and all this worry has me well . . . .worried. lol

What I'm looking forward to is sleeping for several days after the surgeries. I need the rest!!

Thanks!

I'll be there one week after you. I'm looking forward to meeting you. I'm kindof freaking out too. I hope I don't die and leave my kids without a mom. I hope I don't develop serious complications that interfere with my career. I hope I don't heal badly and wind up looking like a victim from SAW. I hope it doesnt hurt too much. After my WLS, I told God that if I survived, I would go to church every Sunday, etc. etc..and I haven't exactly made good on all those promises so I am seriously stressing right now.

The anxiety you're feeling now goes away after surgery but can often be replaced with a little self-pity and depression. The anesthesia makes you emotional and for me the pain meds do as well. You'll get tired of feeling tired and sore and swollen, but I'm happy to report that it all passes. For me it's been a small part of each of my procedures. I get down and out when I'm on so many restrictions but it really is so worth it to follow the advice of your surgeon to obatin the best results possible. Just remember you can always come here and post your feelings and we'll lift you up and encourage you if you need it! You'll be fine!
