Follow up appt yesterday

 I had my first follow up appt yesterday. They took out about 35 staples yesterday which was apx half of the staples I have. None of the drains were able to be taken out, still draining to much. I guess I was being impatient hoping they could be removed so soon. I have anotehr appt next week where, hopefully the drains will be removed. I am really tired of walking around with them in but they serve a necessary purpose and I will do this right and not be impatient! lol
The dr said I still have a great deal of swelling and it is going to look so good when that goes away, however not to be impatient on that either that it will be three months before I am %80 back to normal. Oh well as long as I am on the way I can do this. The results are already exciting. She redressed the incision with steri strips and some antibacterial stuff that didn't smell very well. It didn't hurt getting the staples out as I still cannot feel my stomach, I wonder how long that will take. 
This whole thing is just exciting and it is fun anticipating the future.

Congrats on a good appt.  Sorry to hear that the drains didn't come out but I feel the same way you do.  I can live with them if it's going to make the results better and it really is just a short amount of time.  I have my second follow-up on Friday which I moved from Thursday .. hoping that I'll be my draining will be down enough to get them out for the weekend.

 my followup is not until next thursday, which is still over a week away! I hate having them in but what ever is best. I am still so swollen that i cannot fit in any of my old pants yet. uugh. just wwaiting patiently.....

Wow -- I think you look great!  I think I have much more swelling above my incision than you do.  I had a LBL with an anchor cut so maybe that's way... more cutting.   I'm not sure how long I'll have to wait if they don't pull the drains out Friday.  I'm thinking I'm going to be begging to be in there as soon as I see the fluid levels drop under their requirments - hehehe....

I put on my pre-surgery jeans yesterday and they fit... not loosely but they fit.
