Went to my PCP yesterday!!!

I had my follow up visit with my local PCP yesterday, and It could have gone better!!
He has been on board every since I had my WLS VSG, in Mexicali and likewise for my 1st round of PS with Dr. Sauceda, in Monterrey.
He checked out my stitches from my arm lift and removed the few remaining and said they looked great and that the work done on my neck and face lift was excellent.
I had an infection come up last Monday, and he said it was all gone and everything look great no more dressing, just keep on the Antibiotics and see him back in three months.
Needless to say I was very happy. He also gave me the results of my blood test to send to Dr.S.
I feel that it is of utmost importance to have your local Dr. be behind you just in case Like me if the is a complication, major or minor. Because, I knew he was behind me I did not hesitate to get to the urgent care and get my infection looked out and get a longer and stronger dose of antibiotics.
My arms felt better even as soon as the very next morning.
What if I had lingered or hadn't had something in place the results could have been tragic. but they actually turned out very well since the urgent care Dr. took out most of the stitches, and got out all the puss and infection.
I also think that because what we are doing is such a positive thing in working toward our goal of being healthy and fit, that your local PCP is proud to have such a positive person as us among their patients!!! Bard

I'm so glad that everything is healing up nicely for you. It's so important to have your aftercare arranged and it sounds like you have a good team in your corner.

I'm just curious, with the infection being a direct result from the plastic surgery, will your insurance cover your complications?

I hope your recovery continues to go well!

You are an inspiration!! I am lucky as well - as my PCP did my pre-op visit (EKG, lab work, physicla) and she wants to see me when I return.

You were wise to go to urgent care when you did - an infection can  quickly get out of control. Good for you!!

It took me all of two seconds to make up my mind, and got to urgent care right then. I'm very glad I did.

When I saw my PCP for my pre-op she told me - if you have a fever, is the site is angry red &/or hot, then get to the ER. You were wise & it paid off!!
