Congratulations on your upcoming surgery!
My surgery was 7 1/2 hours, but I had tt, bl/ba and liposuction of flanks and thighs.
I was out of work (sit down job) 8 weeks, began to feel close to normal at 6 weeks.
My pain was a 10 (I'm a big baby)
My waist and shirt size remained the same (button up shirts are larger)
Good Luck!

Congrats! I had my pannie, tummy tuck & BL/BA on April 6th. Surgery was scheduled for 4-5 hours but only took 3 1/2 (she removed 15 pounds of excess skin).
I'm scheduled to be off 6 - 8 weeks, I also have a desk job, but will begin working from home tomorrow. I expect to return to my office around week 6. I could probably go back sooner, but am taking advantage of the opportunity to work at home.
I am a BIG baby when it comes to pain & only have had 1 prior surgery. I was scared to death about this surgery & I am so relieved at how well everything has gone. Pain was not that bad at all. The most pain I had was from my skin ripping when they went to sew the skin together (they said it was due to all the stretch marks & the skin being very thin). Also my back has hurt a lot, which I attribute to sleeping in a lazy boy chair and/or propped up on pillows in bed. I usually sleep on my sides, so this was difficult to adjust to.
I have been living in sweat pants but did try to put on a pair of jeans I wore prior to the surgery & they were way too big. I haven't measured yet as I am still pretty swollen - but was thrilled to see there is an obvious difference.
Good luck with your surgery & I wish you a very painless recovery!
