Post-Op Facelift... Day 3.....It's Alive!!!

Just wanted to check in and give a quick update. Thank you Ruth for updating for me the day of surgery! Things are improving each day. It started off rough due to pain meds that didn't work for me but got them switched out the following day and found my happy place...LOL

I had my upper and lower eyelids done, mid face and neck lift. My eyes look the worst but hurt the least. Most of the pain is in the jaw and neck. That's where the muscle work is done so it just takes longer to heal. I've been showering and getting around just fine. Eating is not much fun. I can't open my mouth far enough to chew much so it's been mostly soft foods. Soups, pudding, oatmeal, protein shakes and mashed up bananas. I look like a chipmunk but my surgeon says everything is progressing right on schedule. I'm adding a before and 3 day after photo. It's hard to see results this early out due to how distorted you are but it's a start. The next time I'll take off the head girdle so my neck is more visable.

 I'm sending good wishes for those of you with upcoming surgeries and continued healing for those in recovery.

Yay!!! So glad you are through the surgery. You are looking good- it will be well worth it!

Good to see you posting....I assume the eyes are doing better than the other night.

You look great!.......Looks like you don't have too much swelling...lucky you.  Watch out for day 4 or 5, those were my worst days then things started to go down a bit.  Oh I remember the raccoon eye look so well...lol. 

I think you can already see how much fresher/younger your face is going to be.  You've always been beautiful......after this....holy cow you'll be a knock out.

I'm looking forward to the swelling going down so I can actually see the results. I can definitely see it in my neck but my face just doesn't even resemble me right now....LOL Having these fat cheeks reminds me of my overweight days! Blech!

Hopefully for you this is the worst swelling you'll have.....I remember when I got to the pumpkin head or bowling ball face stage it was miserable....thankfully it only lasted 2 days.

ooooooooh Renee....does it hurt as bad as it looks like it hurts.  You had some of the procedures I want done.  If you do not mind saying, did you have your surgery in the US, and what was the cost?

It doesn't hurt as much as it looks like it would. It's not comfortable by any means but very manageable with the pain meds. Most of my discomfort is in my jaw and neck. I had lipo done along with the muscle tightening in the neck and both of those procedures make you extra sore.

I had my surgery in my home town. I am very fortunate in that my plastic surgeon, Dr. Nijher, is just a short ride across town from me. He offers a discount when you have multiple procedures at once. My cost for the face lift package was right at 10K.

Renee, it's going to look sooo good when the swelling and bruising is gone. I am so happy for you.

Congrats - glad it's over and you are healing up.  You sport the raccoon look well - draw some stripes on that big t-shirt and sport a fluffy tail!  Happy to hear the big pain is behind you now.  Hope the rest of your recovery is smooth.
