So I had my Tummy Tuck 7 months ago.  Everything has healed beautifully and I just LOVE my results.  But I have a question for those of you who also had a tt with muscle tightening.

Immediately after surgery (first couple of days) I had NO appetite....I always felt full and figured it was because of the muscle tightening, being a little puffy from surgery and wearing the TIGHT binder.  For that first week I had to eat very small meals because I always felt so full, like one more bite and I'd pop....... I remember thinking this might be the feeling folks who had WLS have...(I did not have WLS surgery so I don't know how it feels for you).

So now fast-forward to today.....7 months post-op............I've noticed that I feel full all the time.  I just can't eat the same size meals as I used to eat before the Tummy Tuck otherwise my tummy feels too tight...kind of a little puffy and uncomfortable.

I hope what I'm saying makes sense............anyhow..........has this happened to anyone else after having the TT w/muscle tightening?

Thanks!!

My doc said that to expect this from the muscle tightening, everything is more crowded inside including your stomach. Your stomach can't expand as much as it used to. Also, Moosie, question for you. I had my LBL w/anchor cut & lipo to back 4 weeks ago. I am still having trouble sleeping. I can't seem to get comfortable and when I do sleep for a few hours, I wake up so achy! Otherwise, I am doing fine during the day (except being tired all of the time) not having much pain at all. I'm beginning to dread nighttime. Do you remember having trouble sleeping after your TT? I'm starting to get scared bc I go back to work in two weeks and I can't function this tired at work (nurse). Sorry to answer your question with a question, but I know you are a great source of info. Thanks, K

What your doctor said makes sense to me.........

So far as sleeping after my TT I found it most comfortable to be in bed on an angle....almost like sitting....I'd prop myself up with about 4 pillows behind me and then I put 2 pillow under my knees so I took all the pressure/pulling off my tummy.  I slept like that for probably 6-8 weeks and then started sliding down further (removing 1 pillow at a time****il I was finally sleeping in a totally flat position.  I took it slow....I like to heal and heal fully so I don't have problems afterward so I tend not to rush things. I also tried real hard to NOT nap during the day otherwise I keep waking up.

Hope that helps and hope you get a good night sleep!!!
PS- have you asked your surgeon if you can take something like Tylenol PM temporarily to help you??  Not something you want to rely on long term but especially after surgery it might help...

I have been taking Benedryl but doesn't seem to last me the whole night and seem to be relying on it just like you said. Thanks for your help!

I would not take Benedryl as something to help me sleep........call the surgeon ask about Tylenol PM or Advil PM......

I'm almost 3 months TT and have found when I eat too much I feel like I'm going to "pop".. it feels very tight, like theres no place for my pouch to expand...

I don't feel full all the time and still experience hunger, but when I'm full - I'm full!
