One more post surgery question

Another question I have is about a compression garment after surgery. I talked to my Dr's nurse and when she didn't say anything about one I asked. She said they only use compression garments for liposuction. Since I am not having lipo, I am having pannulectory with muscle tightening I won't need one. This is contrary to most i have been reading about post surgery. Should I look into getting one myself and if yes, where do you get these. My surgery is Monday so I don't have time to get anything over the internet.
Thanks for the advice.

Go to a big department store like Lord and Taylor, Macy's, Bloomingdale's, etc and spend the money for a Spanx. They come in several different styles, but give the most support that you can buy "off the rack". My spanx gives more support then the compression garment my doctor fitted me for post operatively. I'm shocked that your doctor doesn't recommend any supportive garment for your type of surgery...I have to wear mine for 8-12 weeks! It helps so much much with swelling and it makes you feel good having it on!

Hi
Another option i visited was Under Armor garments.  They are great for compression.  You can some compresson t-shirts and pants and they fit well under pants, skirts and dresses.  They also help with temp. control.

Surgeons have different protocols post-op.....all the ones I've meet do believe in the benefits of the compress garments after surgery with or without lipo.  I was put in compression garments after my Tummy Tuck without having lipo.

Here are some websites that sell them....

I've got a few different brands...they are all basically the same just sometimes I find one on sale. Here are some links....

I just found this site ...have not tried their product yet but may order some for my next surgery

Here's one more....I'm using the arm garment now....the quality is not as good as the the Veronigue or Marena but they are less expensive....I guess it's the old "you get what you pay for" but I will say I'm happy with the garment for the legs.   (fyi - they were slow in responding/shipping which kind of annoyed me but if I needed another one I would seriously think of using them again)  www.patientsdirect.com/sunshop/index.php

Hope that helps...
