Should We Stay an Additional Week?

We are flying to Costa Rica in 39 days for my TT, BA & arm lift - all with lots of lipo.

We have tickets to fly back on post-op day 13. Is that long enough? I woke up last night & was thinking we should stay an additional week!! Now I am all freaked out!!

Will I be able to open a car door on day 13? I am taking 5 weeks off from work - so I'm not missing anything here in Ca. I'd be closer to my PS for an additional week . . . what do you think??

Stay the extra week, if you can afford it.

If you aren't feeling well enough to travel, your body will thank you for it.

If you are feeling fantastic, then enjoy Costa Rica and have some FUN.  It's so beautiful and there are many things to do, especially if you are into ecotourism.  It also has a huge American expat community, with the larger portion being retired U.S. military families, because the cost of living is so reasonable and the lifestyle is extremely good.

Thanks!! We won't be able to enjoy Costa Rica on this trip - but perhaps next year!! This trip is all about rest, rest, rest!!

I will be able to sit on my deck at the recovery inn & enjoy the wildlife!! I packed binoculars - just in case!!

I tend to lean towards reducing risk so if it were me and I could do it I would stay the extra week....

Thanks so much!! Waiting to see what the recovery inn says - if they have the room.

The PS said 10-12 days post op - so we booked our flights for post-op day 13.

Hmm, Well, I was driving at day 10 so yeah, I think a car door is possible :) I have to be gentle with myself, I tend to do too much.

But really, I think anytime you can afford to stay longer if you are out of the country or out of the region, do it! It's sooooo much better to be closer to your surgeon in case of complications.  Besides, Costa Rica is fun - outside of San Jose, at least. ;)
