Belly Button Piercing?

I didn't get it done yet - dont get all excited. Im pretty sure there is more healing required first. But Im wondering if anyone has had their surgeon pierce their button? Im going to ask mine to do mine. I figure at least he can give me lidocaine! LOL!
It's something I always wanted but never could have because I was too fat! And I had to watch all my friends get theirs whiel I just got my eyebrow done (which rejected by the way).

Just wondering if Im the only freak out there looking for a new hole!

Hi! You mention that your eyebrow rejected...well what if that happens to your bb?? My daughter's bb piercing rejected and she tried twice. Now she had a messed up bb. Just throwing that out there for something to think about. Don't mean to rain on your parade.

I know why my eyebrow rejected though. I have had nipple piercings, tongue piercings, and currently have a hood piercing (yep, clitoral) that all did fine. Im not too worried about that - though I do hope it doesn't happen. But should it even start to appear to be happening Ill remove it and move on with my life! LOL!

Just wondering... were you able to keep your piercings in during surgery? I have my nostral and labret pierced as well as many ear piercings, two of which are gauged to a 2 and I had to take all of mine out for surgery. Just curious. Oh and I too have been throwing the navel priercing idea around a bit. I'll have to make that decision when all of this swelling is gone and I actually have a FLAT stomach. lol!

I have had my eyebrown, nose, tongue, nipples (bad bad bad idea- ouchie and never healed well), and clitoral hood pierced.
The only thing STILL pierced is my hood and NO I didn't wear it for surgery - but I have had it for years so wasn't worried about it closing up on me. If you must have something i your holes - get plastic. I think it all comes down to whether they have to use the AED on you or not. Im imagining it could cause burns in the piercing areas.
I know we tried not to shock people with underwire bras on for this reason (and fire...but thats a WHOLE other topic! LOL!)

LOL! Yeah not a good idea to have metal on if you need s few joules to get your heart a pumping. I did try wearing a silicone retainer in my labret during one of my non-ps surgeries only because the piercing was relatively new and because the anethesiologist said it would be ok. However, it was gone when I woke up from surgery and everyone I asked new nothing about it. I'm guessing it got pulled out when they took the tape off that was holding my endotracheal tube. So I just figured what the heck. I have had all of my piercings long enough for them not to close now anyway.

I recall reading on this forum, maybe two months ago that we couldn't get a belly button piercing if we had had a TT and the umbilical tube was moved and reattached. I didn't keep the link as it is isn't something that I cared to do. I only filed it away for information only.
