Lipo Question

Monday I will be one week out from extensive lipo.. My question is when does your strength return anc when can I look for at least some of the swelling to at leaat partially subside. The pain isn't so bad now it is just the swelling and the discomfort from the weakness. I find myself almost having anxiety attacks when the weakness overtakes me.
I was planning on returning to work next week but at the moment I am not sure I can do it. I teach in a kindergarten class and not sure I can keep up with the little ones right now.
Any advice you can give will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Patrice

I had lipo done with my thigh lift and brachioplasty. I was also very weak after those 2 procedures. As it turned out I was dealing with anemia while I was trying to recover. Have you had your blood work done recently? Could you be low in iron or low on protein? The lack of protein can cause you to feel very weak as well. The swelling just varies from person to person. I made sure I wore my compression garments and I used ice packs. Would be a good idea to also check with your surgeon.

I will return to see my surgeon on Monday. As for blood work she did all that the morning of surgery and said it all looked wonderful. I have been trying to make sure that I get plenty of protein but you know how that goes after you have had surgery your appetite is almost non-exisistant.I do appreciate your reply. I guess we all go through those periods where we question certain things and this happened to be one of the days where I was feeling doubtful. I know I am still early out but I have always been a person *****covered quickly so this is throwing me for a loop. Thanks again for your response. And I think I will try the ice packs and see if that brings any relief.
