Is your appointment for your consult or your surgery?

I can't speak for anyone but myself but I am happy with my surgery.  It was not that bad pain wise and the scars are almost invisible now.

I had a full TT on January 16th.  That includes the anchor cut with the muscle tightening.

If its just the panni, your pain and recovery will be minimal, I think.  I didn't have any issues at ALL with that part of the healing.  Mine are still quite red, but the scars are healing nicely.  You'll still have swelling - as I still have my "baby bump" - its bigger some days and smaller others...

I just started back exercising last week.  I could feel my vertical cut arguing with me, but no damage was done.  Only thing is - my Scaraway tape fell off!  I had to keep putting it back on - I was wondering what the other people thought of me holding my stomach during Zumba!

IMHO the drains were the worst thing to deal with - mostly emotionally.  Be prepared to weigh very close to the same shortly post-op as you did pre-op, but you have to wear clothes 4+ sizes bigger - that was a big issue for me.  Also have comfy clothes to wear so the drains don't pull (big enough).

I slept on the couch for the first 2 nights and then in the bed after that - I didn't have any issues with getting in/out.  I woke myself up every 4 hours and took my pain meds - made a world of difference in the morning when I woke up and my first inital movements.

Wow ok thanks for sharing your experience! I am worried about it but it sounds like it is more bearable then the skin irritations that i sometimes get. Bigger clothes? I thought it was snug clothes maybe I misunderstood Doc.......

No - you didn't misunderstand him/her.  You will have a compression garment on that will be snug/tight (to have the skin re-adhere properly and to help reduce swelling), but the clothes you put over top (jeans/sweats) will need to be loose to accommodate the drainage tubs coming up and over the top of the waistband, plus you'll be quite swollen to begin with.  Keeps them from pulling too.

When he pulled the first 2 - it stung quite a bit.  He pulled one and the nurse pulled the other.

I took the last one out myself and it was a piece of cake.  Hardly even felt it.

He told me to breathe in then "let it out"... that's when they pulled...  It was over in a matter of seconds and the stinging went away in about 10-15 seconds.

I HATED my drains...
