My Dr. never said when I could sleep on my stomach. I did it as soon as it felt comfortable for me. I believe it was at about 7 or 8 weeks. However I had a drain in my right thigh until 6 weeks out so doing so before that was not possible. Even at that point I don't believe I slept the whole night like that because it just didn't feel comfortable doing so.

I'd say take it slow, if it feels comfortable go w/ it. If there is some pain or discomfort stop and try it again later.

I'm a tummy sleeper and was on my tummy in 2 weeks, as soon as the drains came out. LOL after my RNY I was on my tummy while still in the hospital.

I believe my surgeon said I'd have to wait 8 weeks but I'm not a tummy sleeper so it was no big deal for me.  I was just so happy when I could finally roll over on to my side and get a descent nights sleep.

Have you checked to see if your surgeon has their post-op instructions posted on their web site?

I'm 4 months post op and still haven't returned to my tummy.  I guess I am okay now on my tummy.  I know I don't sleep as deeply as I used to, but after I get my breasts and face done in the fall, I won't want to decrease the chance of having a good outcome by sleeping on my face and breasts.  I read it's bad to sleep on your face - post face lift or not and it's not increases breast droopiness sleeping on your tummy.
