Update:10 days post op Today

Hi All,
I'm 10 days post op from my lbl/brachio and I must say I'm feeling pretty great. The mornings are a little rough though. It feels like during the night everything stiffens up and tightens and it takes a while for me to get moving. That is also when I'm in the most discomfort. By 10 or 11am I'm back to feeling really good again.
I saw Dr. Mazaheri yesterday and had 2 more of my drains removed Yay! So now I'm down to one. One drain is definitely easier to deal with then four drains! I'm hoping to lose this last tugging little bugger at my next post op visit on Thursday. The area of swelling that I was concerned about has definitely gone down. It went down some within a day after wearing the binder Dr. M had put on me on Monday. At my appt yesterday he told me to start wearing the garments I bought. Now I finally know what everyone has been talking about. It's odd. They're constricting and tight but yet oddly comfortable in a weird way. Messes with my head a bit. I can't wait to take it off (Dr. M said I can take a breather from it at night if I want) and am glad when it's off but then I oddly miss the support and want to kinda put it back on. Funny. I can definitely see how one could get dependant on them! Also, it is quite amazing how much wearing a garment reducing your swelling.
My hubby and I took some updated pictures hopefully I will get those posted sometime today. I'll post when they are up. Thank you all for your advice, support and well wishes. God bless.

Yay for doing well!!!!
I too have that "stiffness" in the morning. In fact Im down to taking a painpill right before bed for my achiness when I lay down from a long day, and then one when I first wake to get moving. Im good during the day without anything!:) Unless Im coughing a lot that is!

And SUPER hoorah for getting more drains out - I hate those damned things!

And I completely relate to wanting the binder off but realizing it feels BETTER on.

Have you been Poo'ing well? Sorry...gotta ask. Im obsessed with everyone going like they should! Haha!

I was wondering if being stiff and painful in the morning was common. I stopped taking my pain meds right after The Great Butt Dig Out 2010 because I was having so much trouble going and didn't want to risk having to have a dig out of my own. However, I have had some rough nights and especially rough mornings where I came really close to giving in and taking a Percocet. I'm just afraid to rock the boat. I have been going everyday with very little to no problems since I stopped the pain meds. But I'm telling ya girl, some mornings, the Tylenol just ain't cutting it!

Coughing? I can't even bear the thought! Everytime my body has tried to cough I have been able to stop it by drinking water or eating a sugar-free Werther's candy. I can't imagine what coughing would feel like. Just using my abs to poop sometimes has me seeing stars.

I know right? DRAINS SUCK!

Got my drains out almost immediately thank God - I'm also 10 days or is it 11 now - surgery was the 30th.... I'm sure still feeling itchy and wearing the binder and the bolero compression garment.

I do have before and afters but they are kinda scary to be frank. if anyone really feels that crazy, it's www.picturetrail.com/kilaani and ps is the pass.

Congrats on your surgery! I was a bit itchy while in the hospital on the morphine but not since thank God. My surgeon doesn't have me wear any garment for my arms. As far as for my tummy, I switch between my binder and garment. Thanks for the invite to see your pictures. You can see mine on my profile if you are interested. I will friend you because it is for friends only.
