New to So-Cal area

I am originally from Illinois and had no problem getting things approved.  I then moved to California before I was able to have any p.s. completed. Does anyone know anything about the Medi-Cal Kern Family. I was told by one person they were on medi-cal and had some work approve but she had to go to Fresno to do it. Any advice would be soooooo helpful.
