Anyone heard about the corset surgery for weight loss patients. It does more than a LBL and with less of an incision. My local news did a story on it and it helps multiple areas. They cut a vertical football shape out of the abdomen. They claim recovery is faster with out an incision going all the way around the body. I am very interested.

There is a website I found on it. I have never heard of it myself.

The scars seem to be more though. Not like a football.

Wow, I went to that link and looked at all their before and after pictures - and boy I would be extremely disappointed if those were my results. Yes, the surgeon did a good job pulling in all the excess abdominal skin but the hips area and legs were still a serious problem. With all the pictures I've seen of the LBL - those results all look superior. I think that if your only problem is abdominal then maybe this works? If you have lost a lot of weight I don't think works well. Interesting to know there are different approaches - but it wouldn't work for me. I wonder if anyone here thinks it would work for them?

I don't see how they say it does more than an LBL when it doesn't do anything for the backside. It really is just an extended anchor cut tummy tuck.

I personally thought the results where amazing! This procedure would atleast take care of your side boobs and tummy all at once.... but to each it's own.. Either way u look @ it being we all have lost so much weight we would still have to have other procedures done... But I am going to do more research on it now thanks for the info...

CW 319/ I can do this.....22lbs till goal ( I WILL NOT SABOTAGE MYSELF).....

That looks almost identical to my Anchor cut TT with the exception of the cuts going out from under Breast to the back.  I had my Brachio done at the same time so my side boobs went away when he did the extended Brachio with it extended down through the armpits to under the boobs.

I believe this "corset trunkplasty" is basically the Anchor Cut.
I don't see how they can claim "faster" recovery unless there is no muscle tightening done.

The photos showed a simple anchor-scar tummy tuck (a.k.a. Fleur-de-Lis) with a "T" incision between the breasts (never seen that one)  and an upper body lift incision that went around on to the back.

No correction of the buttock was acheived as in an LBL because no incision was done there.

This was a nice result, altough my personal preference has been to keep upper scar in the armpit area and not take it out onto the back:

The patient shown had very little excess skin, so hard to tell what the operation is capable of correcting.

BUT one true rule always applies: mini incision = mini result.
No matter what they say on the evening news.
