Wearing shorts after thigh lift?

For those of you who've had an inner thigh lift, do you wear shorts?   I'm just wondering how noticeable the scar is.  I'm hoping that I'll be able to have the groin incision.  I'm really not for sure if I will have my thighs done if they can't do the groin area incision.

I don't wear shorts now.  I'm not for sure I would feel comfortable enough to wear them with scars going to my knees (if they went down that far).     So why put myself through the pain if I'll still be covering up in pants and long dresses all the time.   I'll just refuse to look in the mirror from the waist down lol.

I go for my consult on April 23rd, so I'll find out whi*****ision I would need then.

Thanks,
Amy

Thanks for your reply.  Did you wear shorts before having the thigh lift?   I agree that a scar is a good trade off for the saggy skin!

yes I did because even @ 270 lbs my legs were very thin for my size & they looked good,so when i lost all  that weight boy did thsy sag and if I didnt have the thigh lift I would have never worn shorts again

I wear shorts. I don't wear extremely short ones because I'm 48 but I love wearing shorts again. My scars are not very noticable and mine don't go all the way to my knees.

Thanks Renee.   How far past the extra skin does the scar need to be?  My extra skin stops half way between my groin and my knees.  I'm just wondering if the scar stops where the extra skin ends or if needs to be extended a little to tighten things up more.

My scar goes from my groin down a little bit more than half way down my thigh. It stops about 6 inches before my knee area. By taking the incision down the thigh he was able to pull it tighter and reduce some of the sagging skin on the back side and outer area of the thighs as well. My results can be see on my front and back. The trade off was well worth it to me. My thighs are much tighter and firmer looking.

I do wear short and my scar is still kinda pink. I have the long scar but also have scars from knee replacement. In my opinion no scar looks worse than rolls of loose skin.

Thanks Leslie!  It was great meeting you too.  You are so beautiful!  Not to mentioning inspiring!  Running a marathon WOW!  The only way I'm going to run is if someone is chasing me trying to kill me lol.

I really enjoyed the meeting.  It was nice to get to talk about our concerns instead of spending the whole time answering questions for those who haven't done any research at all!
I've just got to get past the guilty feeling for being at the meeting instead of being home with my family!
