I'm one week postop from my LBL/Brachio and I'm feeling pretty good except that my butt is so sore. What did you do about sitting on your butt incision? I have tried everything and nothing helps for very long. I've tried various pillows, recliners, egg crates, postioning. I'm just unable to be on my butt incision for more than a few minutes without it really starting to hurt. Also, how long did the numbness last for you all?

Hi,I'm comming up to 5 months post LBL. I found it difficult to rest too, early out, there really isn't a good spot with incisions 360 degrees around your body! I just kept shifting, it does get better. I still have numbness along the whole incision, about an inch about an inch above and below. I also have a triangle from my belly button down to each hip that is numb, and probably will be forever. Hope this helps.

I will be 3 weeks post LBL tomorrow, and I found that sitting in a chair was easiest when I sat on the edge of a chair with my legs extended straight out which sort of took the pressure off of the incision line on my butt and feeling the majority of the pressure on the lower buttocks/upper thighs. You will have to place several pillows behind your back to get in this position. I'm still numb, but experiencing quite a bit of burning and pain above the butt incision. I'm assuming my nerve endings are firing back up after being cut. Good luck! I hope this helps!

I'm 3 months out from my LBL and I'm still numb all along my incisions. As far as my back incision, it never really bothered me, my surgeon has us stay in a "lawn chair" position. So there really wasn't any pressure on my back incision that I could feel. My butt muscles would get store just from having to be in the same position, so that made me get up and walk a lot to just get off of it. Hang in there, it will get better soon!

I didn't have much pain along my back incision either. I stayed in a recliner with my legs up in a lawnchair position as well. My butt got sore from sitting still so long so I would shift from one side to the other or get up and move around. Once you aren't sitting for so long it will get better. Take some pain pills or tylenol to take the edge off the burning sensation in your incisions. The numbness lasted a while along the incision areas. It gradually came back. I'm 9 months out now and don't really notice it too much anywhere.

At 9 mos out are your incisions still really pink or are they starting to fade.  Lin

It's funny because I don't put ANYTHING on my scars in the back part of my LBL and those scars are so much lighter than the ones in the front.  Have been since the beginning.  The scars on my breast are fading quicker than the scar on my anchor cut and front part of my LBL.  So the answer is no, they have not faded completely yet unfortunately.  Of course I just had a revision on my anchor cut so I'll be starting over there.  I'm guessing by 1 year the rest will barely be visible.  I hope!

I'm 4 months out from my LBL......the incisions never bothered me.  When sitting at the kitchen table I used 2 chair cushion under my butt and one along the back of the chair (wooden chairs).  When in bed I'm in a reclined position with pillows behind me so it seemed soft enough for me...

I'm still numb along the incision area and around most of my butt cheeks (I had the auto augmentation).  I've been told the numbness lasts anywhere from 6 months to a year.

Hope you feel better soon.

You PS Forum Ladies are Angels! Thank you all so much for your replies!
I'm so glad to hear that what I'm experiencing is normal and does get better. I have been off presciption pain meds (switched it for 2 extra strength Tylenol) since day 5 because I just could deal with the constipation and other than sitting I wasn't having much pain. I have just been having so much trouble getting comfortable and staying in any position for too long equals pain. I haven't been sleeping very well since I end up waking up from the pain about every hour or hour 1/2 all night long. It really kind of sucks. I am miserable each morning and wondering if I made the right decision going through with this.  I had slept (poorly) in my recliner for the first 3 nights but that was getting too be too much for my butt and my incisions became red and pissed off. Nights 4 and 5 was able to finagle sleeping semi-propped on my side on the couch , switching side every hour, and last night...HALLELUJAH! I was able to sleep in my own bed! I slept on my side, getting up and then turning to the other side every 1 - 1 1/2 hours because the pain would wake me up. But At least I was off my butt and in my own bed, and got to experience a bit of normalcy ( sleeping in close proximity to my wonderful hubby). I kid you not, when I got in my bed, I actually got teary eyed, I was so happy! I know ridiculous! Well, then at least I know this is about par for the course so I will just hang in there until it improves. I can't thank you all enough for the help and support you all have been through this journey! God bless you and keep you all!

Hi Sandi,

My best place to sit/sleep post op was on a soft couch with my butt aligned right in between 2 cushions, there was no pulling on the incisions and it was soft enough that my butt didn't hurt much.
