Well this has been one loooooooooong day and I'm pooped!
I have an almost 2 hr drive each way and we needed to run an errand before heading north so we left the house before 10 am, my appointment was at 1pm....we got out of the office at 2:40, stopped at our favorite eatery for a very late lunch on the way back and got home at 6:30!
My calfs, ankles and feet are HUMONGOUS!!!!!!!! I don't even recognize these stumps at the end of my legs as my own feet.
The nurse suggested I get surgical Jobst hose to push the fluid up. I may also get a full length compression garment that goes to the ankles. I will be doing NOTHING but laying down tomorrow with my legs up.
OK so they took all the steri-strips off and removed the few stitches that needed to come out. OUCH!! The groin is not meant to have stitches pulled out of it.
I have to start massaging all my incisions and apply polysporin on for the next 3 weeks then I can start a scar cream. The surgeon recommended one called Dermatix Ultra..... very expensive stuff!! I'm going to give it a try on my LBL incisions, if it seems to be working I'll buy more for the rest at my next visit (I can't start it on the new incisions for 3 weeks anyhow).
I'm going to start searching for a lymphatic masseuse, if I can find one I'll treat myself to it.
I don't remember who I talked to about this the other day but I did ask my surgeon if the swelling post-op will re-stretch the skin and cause loose skin again. He said no, it's not swollen long enough to undue the results. I pretty much knew that answer but was glad to hear him confirm what I thought was true.
Hope everyone is healing nicely and feeling well.

Dr. LoMonaco - GUSHING TIME!!!!
I too am super greatful that he didn't stitch the hell out of me! I would have been okay with it - just o have that skin gone. But at least on the sides (the front I swelled so much I had a tiny bit of seperation so healing is a little red but no biggie) the line is so thin and nearly INVISIBLE already! It's INSANE! I should take more pictures.....
DR. LOMONACO ROCKS - COME TO HOUSTON!!!!
/end gush

I don't really have pain around the incisions (expect for the small area he revised from my TT), the pain is from my knees down to and including my feet....OH Lord it is awful.
This too shall pass...this too shall pass.....
Thanks for asking.
