PSA: All You New Post-Ops - Have You Poo'd Today?
If you are newly post op and it's been more than 2 days since you have poo'd it might be time to check with your surgeons recommendations and get those stool softeners, miralax or smooth move tea going!
Dont wait - it's scary to poo after surgery - believe me - I KNOW. But you gotta "Get Er Done!"
You don't want to end up like me! Fists in the butt is NOT a happy memory of mine and I would like it to NEVER be a memory of yours!
Anyways - Happy Easter - and hopefully Happy Poo'ing to you all!!!

Interestingly this has been the easiest time for me. After EVERY procedure it normally takes till about day 5 for me get anything out (and I'm talking bricks!) even though I start taking a laxative the next day and stool softeners every day after....it would still take me till day 5 (once till day 7).
With this procedure I did things differently and it worked like a charm. Starting the morning after surgery I put a scoop of fiber (Metamucil type stuff) into my protein shake. On the morning of day 3 post-op I poo'd and it was EASY....no bricks...that's what made me most happy!!! It seemed to make a big difference for me........I've added the fiber into my daily diet so things keep moving easily.
Gee Whiz so much to say about such a icky topic.
