Swelling?

I had my TT on February 25th and have so far LOVED the results.  I'm still not able to wear "regular" pants because of the swelling and I was wondering how long that usually lasts?  Thanks for any advice you guys can give me :-)

Normally swelling after the TT lasts anywhere from 3-6 months and for some folks it lasts up to a year.......

Are you wearing a compression garment? I didn't even try to get back to my regular clothes until 6 weeks out. The swelling varies for everyone but the worst of the swelling should be over within 3-6 months. I'm 8 months out from my LBL and still swell, not as bad as the beginning, but some.

I WISH I looked as good as YOU when you swell! Very cool meeting you today! Too bad I had to rush out of there to retrieve my daughter from school, or we could have done lunch!:)

You're sweet!  I would have loved to do lunch with you too!

Believe me the swelling isn't as bad with the anchor cut revision and lipo as my initial LBL.  You can see how  back my swollen was with that one as well. The garment I showed you really helps me with the puffy pregnant swelling look.  I have lived in some sort of garment since day 1.  Now with this last round I am looking at a few more months I'm sure since I had lipo.  There have been times I have just wanted to say the heck with it but I know I need it.   It's a love hate thing.

Where did you get that thing again? I need one! What did you do about summer and swimming last year? I can't avoid the pool - I have a 6yr old who loves to swim and will need it to wear her out! LOL!

I DIDN'T!  I had my surgery in early June so there was no swimming for me. We'll see if I even venture out this summer.  It's not good to expose your scars in the sun.  I don't know if I'd even try it with SPF 50.   It won't be so bad with the LBL because you'll be covered up, but I don't think I'm gonna risk it if I don't have to.  I may for a little bit at a time, but I don't want dark scars for sure!

oh thank goodness I found someone having the same problem as me, lolol, I had my large tummy tuck and back lipo on 2/27 and I can't fit into my pre plastics jeans or work pants!! grrrr

It's discouraging and I feel fat, even though my hubby and daughters keep telling me I'm swollen and that's why.

My shirts fit beautifully now though and my stomach is flat, just puffy I guess? lol

today I was so swollen I had to unzip my garment while I was driving home from work because it was painful!

I'm so relieved to hear that this swelling sounds normal.  Honestly, I feel HUGE right now.  I am almost 9 weeks post TT, and I wake up not too swollen...I go to the gym in the morning to do about 30-45 minutes of cardio.  By the time I get home to shower, I am about 3 months pregnant looking.  By the time I finish my day at the office, I am about 6 months pregnant looking.  Honestly there is no way to resolve this except time, right?  I have upped the water intake and I tried wearing the compression garment but that I swear makes it worse during the day.  To make matters worse, i am pms'ing....oh boy so I am kind of swollen everywhere too.. I am hoping that when i get to 3-4 months out it won't be as noticeable.

Yesterday when I was at work, I swear people were staring at my swollen belly wondering if I was with child....UGH....

Does anyone know how many pounds I could have in water weight...does 5-6 sound unreasonable?  I am trying to figure out what is water and what is really weight gained, if any.

I'm 6 weeks out and still super swollen too, especially at night. I've been curious to know how much weight gain there is from all the swelling. The doc took off about 8 lbs, but then I had breast implants which I'm sure weighed a couple of pounds but I still haven't seen any weight loss on the scale. My doc said I could be done with my compression garment at 6 weeks but after trying to work out today without it, I still need it for sure! It was just so uncomfortable without it! My stomach in the front looks great, nice and flat but from the side I just look so thick! It's also hard to know what is swelling and what is fat leftover. I still have a little muffin top and if I bend over can squish a bagel around my belly button and I pray it's from the swelling and not fat!!
