Hello I'm 11 days post op from TT and brachio everything went great, I love the changes already it is unbelievable.  BUT this compression garment is driving me crazy.  What's the trick how long do we have to wear it? I've worn mine 24/7 and I just can't get a full night sleep.  Has anyone worn spanx?  Any suggestion are appreciated.
Thanks
Jody

I was required to wear mine for 6 weeks. I tried spanx at one point when I went back to work and it did not give the same amount of support (for me). I wore the compression garment longer then required because I felt safer in it (protecting the incisions and preventing a post-op hernia since I just had a hernia repair).

KEEP IT ON!
Sorry, not yelling but really believe in the benefits of wearing it.

Are you wearing a mens T shirt (the tank top type or muscle style)? If not do yourself and put one one under the garment...it's long so it will tuck in all the way down your butt and to your mons...it's stops all the irritating rubbing on your skin and makes it much more bearable.

Spanx will not give you the compression you need, especially so early out.
The compression garment is helping to reduce the swelling...if you take it off you will probably blow up.  It also helps the skin to heal nice and smoothly.  The Surgeon basically pulled your skin up and off the tissue underneath, then re-draped it over you...it needs to re-adhere or reattach to the tissue.  The compression helps to hold the skin tightly against the tissue.  Without it the results may not be as smooth.  Compression helps too if you had any lipo to smooth out the lumpiness that normally happens.

I've been wearing garments since last Sept when I had my TT...then I had the LBL 3 months later and now I just had the Inner Thighs so if anyone knows what a drag it is to wear the garments it is me but I'm telling you I'm glad I did.  I've seen the results I've gotten and I'm a BIG believer.  I've seen other women who "can't deal with the garment" and take it off after 3 weeks and frankly their results are not as smooth.

It won't kill you wearing it for the 3 months and could (not guaranteed of course) greatly enhance the results so why not stick it out.

Seriously try wearing the Tshirt under it...it really helped me.

Sorry I kind of ranted on about it...
Have a great day!

Thanks for your help, I'm wearing it all day without any problems I just wake up about 2am feeling like I can't breath but  I'm dealing with with day to day.  Did you have to wear it for 3 months with the tummy tuck?  How long for the arms?

thanks again

Hi!
Yes I wore it a full 3 months after the TT and then went right into wearing it for my LBL so I've been in one since September.  I know what you mean about waking up in the middle of the night and feeling so squeezed like you can't breath or move.  I find that normally happens when the garment has inched down...if I tug on the top and pull it up a bit I feel instant relief.

After my arms I wore compression sleeves for about 2 months.  I found them much more comfortable and easier to deal with than the Ace Bandages.

Hope that helps..

Hi Ruth ~

My PS said he doesn't use the garments on the arms any longer - just the ace wraps - but he said I could use one if I wanted. Why don't you like the ace wraps & how did you pick the size of sleeves?

thanks!

I'm not Ruth - as you can see!  HAHAHA!

But I wanted to say that I just measured my arms and went to the Marena website to figure out the size of my arm garment!  Since losing weight - I have had to buy 2 smaller sizes.

12/09 and 6/11, 9 skin removal procedures with Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey Mexico
Revised to the Sleeve after losing 271 lbs with the LapBand.

Hi,
The Ace bandages kept unraveling on me and were difficult for me to get on by myself (can't pull them tight enough).
The sleeves size I got off the website.......it tells you how/where to measure the arms for the proper size.  FYI - some manufacturers use POST OP measurements and at least one I know used PRE-OP measurements so double check with the manufacturer which one to use or your garment won't fit/work.

I'm wearing my sleeves now....I love them....they go on easy, stay put and have just enough compression to hold things together.  :-)

Best wishes.
