A number of people have mentioned renting electric reclining/lift chairs during recovery from extensive plastic surgery and how essential that was. I was wondering if people could share where they rented them from, particularly if they are national or in the DC area. Also, I would love to know how much it cost. Thanks!

Look in your local yellow pages under Medical Supplies or Medical Equipment.
Personally I never needed to rent an electric one...I've always been able to get in and out of my own recliner and/or bed.

Thanks -- of course, the yellow pages! I just look online, forgot about the simple way.
I am a bit surprised to hear you had no issues getting up and down.
I am going to be alone in my ex-husband's apartment (he is kindly switching houses with me for the first bit of my recovery because his apartment is on one level and my house is three levels). I am a bit uneasy with undergoing a LBL and BA/BL and being by myself after. Friends have offered to help and of course I that is fantastic, but I will be by myself for the most part.

I have VERY strong legs which let me get in and out of chairs without using my arms. Even now after my Inner Thigh surgery (long incision to the knees) and a brachioplasty and revision to my upper TT incision I am able to sit in a regular chair since day 1, and I could get myself in and out of bed since the first day after my surgery.
The only procedure I would say might have been helpful for was the LBL because I had the butt lift with augmentation and it was sore sliding across the bed.
If you are having a TT with muscle tightening at the same time you will have to rely on the strength of your upper legs and your arms.
Best wishes on your recovery

You can get them at any medical supply store but I found those to be more expensive. Rentacenter has them and also Aarons.

I found them very useful and a godsend. I didn't have to mess with a lever or use my legs to push the recliner down. Also you don't have to mess with tons of pillows all around because the recliners are pretty comfy. I'm all for making it as easy as possible and hassle free.
