How hard is it to get insusrance approval for plastic surgery. I was banded nearly teo years ago and have lost 80lbs. My arms and tummy need help I have health link insurance. I cannot afford to do it on my oiwn. Where do I begin with the plastic surgeon or the lapband doctor????
You begin by calling your insurance to see if they cover plastic surgery. Some have complete and total exclusions for anything considered plastic surgery EVEN if it is medically necessary. Your lapband doctor maybe able to give you names of plastic surgeons but he's not going to be the one to submit your papers to the insurance IF your insurance is willing to cover your procedures.
