Called and scheduled my first consultation for Wednesday afternoon.
Wow didn't think I would be asked so many questions on what I wanted before the appt.
Do I want (need) an extended TT $5000 or LBL $10000.
Price is double!

So what questions should I be asking them Wednesday?

I asked if he/she had experience with weight loss patients. I asked to see before & after pictures.

What type of anesthesia is used?

I knew that he did surgery at their on site surgical facility, but you will want to know if they have that or if it's done at the hospital.

I asked how I would be stitched up. Internal/external sutures? Drains?

Are compression garments provided or do you need to purchase them?

What type of post-op pain medicine is prescribed.

I wanted to know his policies on revisions if needed.

I explained what my expectations were and asked if he felt they were realistic. I made sure he knew what I was hoping to achieve.

I'm sure others will chime in with more, those are just a few I thought of off the top of my head.

I just sent you a pretty extensive list of questions.  Let me know if they help.

I'm beginning to thing about PS and considering a consult too.  I wouldn't even know what procedures I would need......thought the surgeon would make recommendations about that???

Thanks for posting this question, I'll be watching the responses.  Also, keep posting as to what you find out after your consult.  I'm really clueless as to the entire process!

Thanks for sharing!  (That includes all the experienced PS posters too!)

The consult is a great way to start.  The surgeon will tell you what specific procedures you will need to get the results you want -- but you need to be able to tell him/her what bothers you the most.

Thank You all for answering. The questions will definitely come in handy. Most I haven't even thought about to ask..duh. After all the reference to pain after lipo I've been thinking about the smart lipo and if it hurts as bad afterwards? If it would be a smart thing to do before I go under the knife?
My pain management drs office now offers the smart lipo and I know I'd be in great hands.
