I am having a panniculectomy w/anchor cut on 5/25. My BF and I like to take our kids to the beach in the summer, and seeing I am going to be in the compression garment still when summer hits, how does it work going to the beach? will sand get into my garment? hurt my scar? any hints? suggestions?

When we are motivated by goals that have deep meaning, by dreams that need completion, by pure love that needs expressing, then we truly live life.

i think you will be fine at the beach...i wouldnt go in the water till you are fully healed...i would wear bike shorts or spandex type shorts......i wouldnt sit in the sand bring a beach chair.....when i had my tummy tuck i was fine at the beach.......patty......good luck and enjoy your new tummy on the beach

I think your compression garment will be too hot to wear to the beach.  I don't think you would want to get the water or the sand in your incisions.  It will be a good 3-4 weeks before the incisions are closed.  Lin

besides it being warm with the garment on at the beach you really need to worry about sunlight and your incisions.  Even under a bathing suit with cream on the scars can get permanently damaged by the sun.  Be really careful........

Most defitinely, I would worry more about sun exposure on the new incisions than anything else, and then also bacteria in the water if you have a remote possibility of any open wounds or incisions still.  Lots and lots of sunscreen and sit under an umbrella.  It'll burn even under a swimsuit.
