Compression garments in June in Florida?
I am having plastic surgery in June and live in Fort Lauderdale. I know this was poor planning but it was the only time I could arrange so far this year and I did not want to wait til the end of the year.
Has anyone ever had to wear compression garments in Florida in June?
Just wondering how uncomfortable I will be.
Thanks!
Kevin

Yep, that would be me. Not only was I in a garment on my lower body but on my arms from the end of July - Sept. It wasn't fun but with the AC running and the fan overhead at night I survived just fine. Seriously it wasn't bad.
Do yourself a big favor and stick it out by wearing the garment at least for 3 months...I believe it makes a huge difference in your end results.
Best wishes on your upcoming surgery!

Since you'll be staying home I bet you'll have no problem with the compression garment.
I totally understand your not wanting to delay the surgery just for the weather....go for it...you'll be so glad you did!!

I've been thinking about the same subject. It isn't Florida temps here in Washington state, but it gets uncomfotable. Especially since we are used to the wet and cold 40's to 50's. I will be wearing my garmanet all summer too. Having surgery in May. I was wondering if getting the garment damp would help at all. I hear some people wet their top sheet down to help keep them keep cool at night. Good luck with your surgery Kevin. Keep us all updated.

I would not suggest wetting your garment. You want your incisions to be dry not moist.
How about hot humid Texas? I had my LBL in June and wore something everyday for 8 months. I didn't spend a lot of time outdoors so it wasn't much of an issue except when I got in my car after work and it was 120 degrees inside of it! Actually it's more of an issue when I go to the gym and workout than any other time. When I did get sweaty I just went home and changed into a clean one. No biggie.
Glad to read this post. I'm having my lbl in June in deep South Texas, where the heat is bad, but the humidity is suffocating. My skin will probably be so white it glows from staying indoors so much, but I plan to do as little outside as possible right after surgery while I'm wearing the compression garments.
