The SmoothMove Tea is the one I used.  I think it has Senecot in it.  I drank it the day after surgery and never had one problem.  I guess I was just very fortunate, because after LapBand surgery I had lots of problems and NOTHING helped.  Not M.O.M or Fiberchoice or anything else I bought OTC.

12/09 and 6/11, 9 skin removal procedures with Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey Mexico
Revised to the Sleeve after losing 271 lbs with the LapBand.

I too had to do the gloved finger thing in may when I had my tummy tuck/hernia repair, breast lift.... OMG I was turtling but didn't have the stomach muscles to push and the damn stuff was like CLAY... I was in agony feeling the need to go so badly... It was nasty....  I tried the suppository first... they said be by a toilet when you do it cause your gonna have to go... It just made the urge to go worse but didn't help the other..  I took milk of magnesium but nothing could get through the clay... So I had to dig it a lot of it... out of there.. then the milk worked well.

This time I have taken 2 stool softeners a day.. and that has helped a lot....

Try dulcolax suppositories before you get fleets.  Much less horrible.  I went 2 weeks after my c section without going because I was scared.

I'm sorry you're going through this. Immediately after surgery I used miralax daily, and upped my fluid intake. I went back on the syntrax nectar shakes to get in extra protein, and I didn't have too many problems.

I really hope things ease for you.

Personally I would not go for the fleet yet.
Try Dulcolax LAXATIVES (3) not the stool softener but a laxative.  That normally does it for me...once things are moving then go to the stool softener for a few days until things seem back to normal for you.
Also, try adding a scoop of Metamucil into your protein shake or drink it by itself if you can...do it 2-3 times a day and it will make the process easier.  Fiber one cereal could also help.

After this surgery I purposely did not take a laxative my first morning post op....didn't want to have to deal with that mess yet...I meant to take it last night but forgot to so I'll be taking them tonight.  Normally about 12 hrs after I take 3 of them I am emptying out everything!

Don't stress over it...lots of things you can try to relieve it.

Feel better!!!
