Back to work too soon after TT?

Monday marked 6 weeks since my TT and it also marked my return to work! I was feeling pretty good and had been doing really well with managing swelling. Except for a few days here and there, my swelling had been minimal. By this Tuesday evening, however, I was uncomfortable and swollen. I managed to get through yesterday at work but today woke up sore and really swollen so I called in. I work a desk job but I think I underestimated how much moving around I actually do.

Did anyone else run into this on their first week back? I feel like such a jerk for going back and having to take a day off already. How did you manage your swelling/discomfort?

I went back to work yesterday after just two weeks off. I was so swollen and tired when I got home. I just couldn't afford to take any more time off work. If I had the time I would definitely take it. Don't feel bad about it.

I went back to work about 10 days after my tummy tuck, and 2 weeks after my buttocks lift. However, I have a very understanding boss and could have gone home early any day. Fortunately, I was okay.

After my tt I went back to work in eight weeks.  At six weeks post-op I was beginning to feel normal, but not well enough for work.  You must take care of yourself and listen to your body.

Hope you feel better soon!

I will be going back to work next week after only 2 weeks off since my TT/Breast Implats/lift this monday.  At 6 weeks out are you still wearing your compression garment?  I know my Surgeon mentioned I would have it on until 6 weeks or so and was wondering if wearing it while your at work would help with the swelling?

I went back to work after 4 weeks, and probably could have after 3.  I STILL swell and am 9 weeks out from my TT.  I wear my compression garment at night and that helps control the swelling.  I still swell mid day and into the night.  I don't wear the compression garment during the day.  I find if I don't wear it at night I'll swell up even more and in the morning be a balloon.

If you're not wearing your compression garment, I recommend you do so again - even if its just at night.  I find it helps tremendously.

i went back to work after 3 weeks.. I definitely needed one more.. at 6 weeks I think that is the perfect time to go back..
I always wore my binder to work and I have a stand up job so I don't know if that makes a difference for the swelling issue because I had none whatsoever.

I'm an RN in a very busy NICU.  I returned at 8 weeks and now am 14 weeks post op and am still swelling IF I do not wear my garment.  I wear it now every shift - and it makes a huge difference.  Do you still have your garments?  I would be a huge ball of swell if I didn't have mine!!!  Try it.
