For me today is a bit stressful because I am having surgery tomorrow....very early in the morning. I have a lot to get done before I drop off my 4 legged baby to his vacation kennel this afternoon and I leave for surgery tonight. I'm starting to feel a bit nervous...a little ball of nervous energy...
I'm paranoid about blood clots....I remember once reading that the risk for clots is higher with the inner thighs.....maybe I read it wrong....I'm trying to not obsess on it and after all I do have faith in my Surgeon, his nurse, and the anesthesiologist so I trust I will be ok.
I'm having my last major round of plastic surgery.....the Inner Thighs (long incision) and I am having my arms re-done (2nd full Brachioplasty...ugh), plus some small revision to very top of the TT incision by the breasts and maybe a revision to the left nipple. A LOT of cutting so it will be a lot of recovery. I already know the inner thigh is the most painful of all the surgeries and the hardest recovery....I've been mentally trying to prepare myself for this.
I have prepared plenty of healthy food and snacks to take with me to the facility were I will be staying for a couple of days....I don't want to rely on pkg'd or fast foods for the next couple of days so I'm taking some healthy food I froze and a container of protein shake powder (I've done this with each surgery and it helps me stay on track with my food.....this is important because I will not able to exercise for a few weeks and I don't want to gain ....I'm guessing that even walking is a problem for 3-4 weeks!)
I've taken all my before pictures (not pretty!) and will be taking after pics once I get out of recovery...as always I will share with my friends once I'm able to.
OK, I've rambled on long enough...maybe I am more nervous than I first thought....
Anyhow, I won't be posting for a couple days so I will wish you all well. Prayers of any kind will be very much appreciated!
My Friend and Angel Renee (renee2007) will be posting post-op updates for me and I will post as soon as I can. Thanks again Renee!!!!!
Catch up with you all in a few days when I hopefully have smaller/smooth thighs/legs and unwrinkled arms.
TTFN
Ruth
PS- I'm trying to not freak out.....I've run out of things to vacuum...jus****ching the clock tick at this point until I take my dog to the kennel.
Ruth, you make it sound like it's the end of the world but it's not! (Easy for me to say now that I'm 3 weeks out!) The first week is hell I admit but I was sweeping my hardwood floors by 2 weeks out because it was driving me crazy and no one sweeps like I do. LOL Slowly but I did it. I drove myself to the Dr at 2 weeks as well and have even gone to the store to get a few things I needed. Nothing heavy. I have had to force myself to slow down because I have spurts of energy and I know I can still injure myself. Dr L was right. The bounce back from this was better than my LBL.
I'll be saying a prayer for you and wishing you the best recovery!

This sounds very encouraging. Hopefully recovery will go as smooth and easily for me as my TT did... I figure if I expect the worst I can only be pleasantly surprised if it is better than expected.
Thanks for shedding some sunshine on this for me.
