Leah, question about your wound vac

Hi Leah,
I know you have had your wound vac for about 8 weeks, and I have only had mine for 4 weeks. But I was wondering if you are wearing a compression garment at the same time? My surgeon had me stop wearing the binder at 2 weeks out from tt, that was when we started doing the wet/dry packs on my "hole".  I haven't worn one since and I am starting to think that might have been a mistake. So today I started wearing some tight "flexees" and have ordered a stage 2 compression garment, because I think I should be wearing something to help keep the swelling down.
So, anyhow, are you wearing any type of compression?
Thanks,
Fran

I didn't at first in the hospital or at home. It hurt too bad when I tried 2 weeks out. My incision and packing was big. My original tunnels were 28 CM, 8 cm, and 4.5 CM. About 3-4 weeks out I started wearing the garment again. It was SO tight at first but within a day it felt better. I bought a non zippered stage 1 and a marena stage 2 and go back and forth. I've tired spanx and flexies but it's not enough for me.

Just this week I've felt that I could without some compression. I might try flexies next week. I feel SO much better when I wear them.

I am 8 weeks from wound surgery on 4/2. So this is 7 weeks today.

Thanks for the reply Leah. I hope my stage 2 garment, that I just ordered, will make me feel a bit better.
I hope you get your wound vac off soon.
Fran

Thanks! I am hoping for next week! My homehealth is approved for 9 weeks and next week is 8 and I am hoping to wear a dress for Easter. :)
