Drains
I'm a little worried. I had abdominoplasty on the 16th, and still have two drains remaining. I live in Spain and they don't have the little drains that you squeeze to get suction, they have these huge drains that you don't get to empty yourself....they do it. Anyway, last night I pulled at the tube by accident and it caused the drain to lose all suction. I called the Dr. who speaks very limited english but she mentioned that since I had an appointment tomorrow it would be fine. Well...just a few minutes ago, I noticed fluid all over my bandages near where the tubes come out. Do you think this can wait until my appointment tonight? I'm assuming so, but i'm a little nervous so i thought i'd ask around if anyone experienced leaking from the site where the tube came out of. Any help would be appreciated!
Its the afternoon here.....The problem is the language barrier when I call...I have an appt. tonight by the time I would get seen in the ER it would be time for my appointment. I was just hoping someone would see this message and give me a little reassurance until I get there! I'm a worry-wart. They hold weird hours here. My Dr.'s Appt isn't unti 7:30pm....
While each surgeon is different - I have had leaking from my STUPID drains since Sunday night - like sticky clearish yellowish nasty stuff. And surgeon hasn't been too concerned. So while lack of suction isn't a good thing - your surgeon is aware and I wouldn't worry about the other unless it's straight blood...FRESH red blood.
BTW- I finally get mine out today! I damn near danced my way out of bed this morning!
