Hi!
Going through the "blues" after plastic surgery is normal.  It hit me after my first brachioplasty and after my LBL about 5 days or maybe 1 week post-op.
Your body has just gone thru major trauma and stress PLUS you have been withdrawing from all the effects of Anesthesia (actually the effects anesthesia lasts for months).

All I can tell you is you feel better.

I too am very active and I struggle with just laying in bed or the recliner...I want to get up and do the housework and cooking and yard work...but it is best to get plenty of rest.  I force myself to get total bed rest at least 5 days but plan on doing it even longer after my surgery this week since I'm doing the Inner thighs and the arms.
It's funny, I used to dream of a time when I could get a couple of days to do nothing but lay around in my pj's....now that I have to do I it isn't as much fun as I always expected/hoped.  I guess it's not the same when you are resting to heal as opposed to just resting.

ANYHOW...I wanted to try to let you know you are not alone, it is normal and this too shall pass...before you know it you will be feeling a whole lot better!

Hang in there!
Feel better!

Many of us have gone through this so you are not alone.  I felt like that for a little bit after my LBL but it really didn't last long.  I was expected to linger for weeks but it was a few days.  That's why the lift chair was great because you didn't need anyone to get you up or move the lever on the recliner.  You just had to push a button and up you go!  This last surgery was definitely more limiting physically.  I needed much more help with this round. I only remember 2 days feeling really down.  I think most of that was because I was wrapped from head to toe like a mummy and I couldn't walk with my arms or my leg together and it drove me crazy! I just wanted to walk normally so bad.  But I got over it pretty quickly.  You know I'm 2.5 weeks out and things have changed like night and day.  I'm amazed the difference 2 weeks made.  Dr L did say that you bounce back faster with the arm lift and thigh lift as opposed to the LBL but the initial recovery is rougher.

Hang in there, this WILL pass!

You are going to be just fine!  Wow...listening to your description bring back so many memories.  I just had a revision in November of 2009, and in just the couple of weeks that I was home, I felt so down in the dumps.  I knew what to expect, but yet I still felt down.  It's all very normal, and I know that you are going to feel much better when you get those drains out.  Each day it gets better.

You will also have something to look forward to when you are able to get up and out.  You will still be able to celebrate your daughter's achievements!  :)

Feel better and God bless you!

Uh oh...then you don't want to hear my answer.    Yep...I did have tubes again.  Sorry...

I think that anytime there is the possibility of fluid draining, they will put in tubes.  I actually had a revision to my brachioplasty - which I was totally surprised that he put in drains.  I figure any other revision, i.e. tt, bl, or something like that will automatically require drains.

Let's pray that you won't need any revisions.

Blessings to you,
Rose
