Nicotine patch ???
I have surgery in 1 week, and was told to quit smoking. So now I bought the patch, and haven't smoked all day, and don't plan to either... my question is: Is it save to have TT with the patch delivering nicotin to the body? should I have gone 'cold turkey' ... which I probably would not be able to...
Yes, I am a smoker. Yes, I actually LOVE to smoke, so please don't give me a lecture about how bad smoking is...
I am ready to quit again (did it for RNY), and hopefully 'stay quit'
all I want to know is if the patch is save to use 1 week before TT?

Karin,
I wouldn't have answered you on the R&R board, if it had been marked as a cross-post.
Best thing to do is to ask your plastic surgeon. I know of several people whose tummy tucks and breast augmentation/lifts were cancelled due to the presence of nicotine in their blood. On the other hand, I recently read about a woman who was smoking in her room at a clinic in Mexico, although I don't recall if it was WLS or plastics.
Best wishes and I hope your doctor is fine with you using the patch within that period.
