Tomorrows is my turn @ 7:30,AMI have been so excited but as I put my babies to bed I'm feeling really sad and nervous.  How bad is the pain going to be?  How soon after surgery are you able to get up and walk around?  Give me as much information as possible.
Thanks
Jody

I had my tummy tuck and arm lift done at the same time.  For me the only time I had any pain was when I stood up, sat down, sat up or laid down because you need both arm and stomach muscles for all of those motions.  Once I was up or down the pain stopped.  I was walking around later the day of surgery and back to work in 2 weeks.  I hope you are as happy with your results as I am with mine.

I had an LBL & brachio in July, I was up and walking the neighborhood in a week. Hunched over but I was able to do it. Was shuffling around the house within a couple of days but didn't do much because I was tired. Really have very little to no pain. Was off pain meds w/ the exception of bed at night at abou 5 days out.

Good luck w/ your surgery tomorrow.

I had my TT and arms done at the same time too. I was slowly walking around the house when I got home from the hospital. Don't get me wrong I slept A LOT the first couple of days.

Like others have said getting up and down is the toughest. The support garments help. Also keep a pillow handy incase you need to cough or sneeze. The arms I had good movement in them after surgery. My stomach was a bit more sore, and I needed to walk slightly bent over for the first week.

Hope this helps. It is definitely icing on the cake after losing lots of weight!!!

You will be slow moving at first but that is to be expected. It will get easier every day. Take your pain pills and stool softeners and have lots of pillows to be comfy.

Good luck with your surgery!

Quite honestly, I really didn't have pain with my brachioplasty. It was awkward and tight feeling, but I worried about the pain,  and I need not have. The worst part was trying to get up out of bed without using my arms. My abdominal muscles were killing me after 2 days!  I wish I had bought a recliner!

I got up and walked around the day of my surgery, no problem. I had to hold my arms at a kind of awkward angle and I mostly slept for the first few days.

Good luck to you! I hope it all goes well.
