My first ambulance ride - and Still loving my surgeon...
No - I didn't. What is that - is it blood or just iron? My number was 9.9 which is considered low - but not emergent (unless I was 80).
Would that bring my iron up faster? Is there a way for Dr. Lo to prescribe it?

It's iron. Your number isn't terriby low but an infusion would bring it up faster. I get iron infusions on a regular basis and I'm doing good if my number stays at 11 even though 12 is considered normal. I got an iron infusion the week of my surgery just in case there was any blood loss. I see a hemotologist and he is the one that prescribes it for me. You could run it by Dr L and see what he says but he may have you get with your primary doctor.
Laura,
There are several people that I know of on the boards who travel from all over to use Dr. Lo. You can call his office and ask about it, but I think he has an aftercare place you can stay until he releases to you travel back home. He's worth the trip and San Antonio is less than 3 hours away!!
