I once read that after TT one starts to lose weight again, is that true? And if 'yes' how much did you lose?

I never reached goal, was about 10 pounds away, have gained back 30, lost 10.. now I have been the same for over a year, with 1 to 3 pounds up and down... but basically the same.

so...  will the loss start again or am I done done?

I had my TT done when I still had 100lbs to lose - I had to get it done early due to chronic back pain.  He removed 13lbs and I lost another 41lbs within less than 8 weeks.  I felt it just melted off and I wasn't even trying.  I've hit a plateau now but I think it's because I'm still working on getting my workouts back to preop!

yeah, see, that's what I heard!!  I wonder if one loses the weight because there are less fatcells available to store??

I am a big 'storer' lol   2 slices of pizza = 3 pounds gain, and 10 days of strict dieting to get rid off.

I read some PS answering questions on Makemeheal.com regarding this. There was quite a few that said it does help get back on track and start losing. The ability to workout more effectively, the mental aspects, and such help jump start the body again. One PS also said he thinks up to about 30lbs wont hurt the results either. But i'd say it depends on your body shape and such.

I don't think that having surgery actually causes anyone to lose weight BUT I do think between the skin/tissue that is removed and the fact that with the muscle tightening we normally do not have any appetite we tend to lose some weight.  Most folks I know may initially lose some weight but then swelling kicks in and many folks actually end up weighing more than when they went in.  For some folks it then goes down again a little but for others the scale pretty much stays the same.
Everyone is different.  I had 5 lbs removed from my tummy and I think at the 2 month mark I was about 3lbs lighter than the day I had the surgery.

Sooooooooooo that was the long way of me saying I don't think it really kick starts and real weight loss.

I was 167 the morning of my LBL and about 5 days after surgery I was 154 right now 3 months later I am at  153 this morning so I have pretty much maintained what I lost due to having my excess skin removed.  Luckily I never had too much swelling.

I was hoping it would kick start something for me but it didn't. I didn't lose any more than what my skin weighed unfortunately.

A stable weight is an important prerequisite for your plastics.  You would not want to still be losing weight, nor experiencing major fluctiations.

Some patients, after plastics, are better able to excercise and move about.  They may well go on to lose some more weight.

Also, the tightened abdominal wall make cause a sense of fullness after meals in some cases.

However, you should not consider plastic surgery as a weight loss method.
