I am having to do mine in 3 surgeries.  Arms/Breasts, then tummy, and finally thigh lift.  I'm okay with that because in each surgery I can at least use other body parts to accomodate me.  However, my surgeon will only let me have a surgery every 6 weeks, no sooner.

Yes it is pretty common to split them up.  Some surgeons will do many many hours of surgery while others live by the rule of no more than 5-6 hrs under anesthesia.
ALSO and maybe more importantly it depends on what you are having done as to whether or not it can be combined.  Depending on where the surgeon is cutting or lipo'ing disruption or interruption of BLOOD FLOW can become a major issue so sometimes you cannot safely combine things.  You have to discuss it with your surgeon and trust their recommendations (unless of course it just sounds ridiculous!)

Best wishes on your upcoming surgery.

A lot depends on the surgeon. Some are comfortable to do them both at the same time because they can do it under 6 hours. Then there are those with different thoughts about doing the the BL at the same time with the TT or LBL because they pull in different directions. I've known lots of folks do them at the same time with no problems. Personally I think 4 weeks is too close. I know my Dr doesn't like to do it less than 3 months but preferrably 6 months apart.
