Drain Question - Semi Urgent...

Left drain always has more than the other - has since day one. It's color is red koolaid - semi opaque.
Right drain always drained less and always a bit more "bloody" it's also the side that was more swollen and almost caused me to return for surgery.

I was squeezing the tubes to move clots through for open flowing - and the right tube had a bit of clotting I moved through - problem is - that tube is now flat and not really open. Does that mean there is a clot internally blocking it? Is this something worthy of calling surgeon this late on a friday? Or somthing I can wait for my call tomorrow when they ask my drainage levels?

It should open up as the fluid passes through. Not all drains will drain equally since they are located in different locations. Some people who have 4 drains may end up keeping one for weeks while the others don't drain much at all. I think you can wait until tomorrow to call the dr.

The tube is flat from the suction, and the suction was increased when you stripped the clots out of the tube.  It will be just fine.  My surgeons motto was to strip the tubes firmly, and strip them often.  Thats all you are seeing.
