Calling all Lap Banders who have had tummy tucks!
I'm looking for someone who has had their port moved when they had a tummy tuck, I'm headed in for the vertical cut next week. I already had the horizontal cut and they did not move my port for that surgery. This time they'll have to move it for sure. Just wondered for those with experience where they moved the port to and did they (EEEK!) empty your band for the relocation?
Thanks for any info you can share.

Hey Girlfriend...
Yes I had a anchor TT on 11/4/09 and the doctor moved my port. He did not unfill me for surgery.
I was so nervous about the plastics that I was VERY tight and almost chose to get an unfil because I was thinking it was just too tight before surgery. My band felt perfectly normal few hours post op and altho no appetiite from surgery, I just knew my band was normal again.
Dont be surprised if you cant feel your new port location for several months. Mine took 3 months before I knew exactly where it was. And the tight skin and scar tissue make it completely feel different now. Mine was moved about 4 inches to my right side and sits right under scar tissue from the inscision. Band doc thought it would hurt to do my fill, but no more that it usually did. So I know the port thing is a big deal... it was to me anyway... but as long as you trust your surgeon you'll be fine :))) Good luck.

Revision Band to Sleeve scheduled 10/29
He said he would try NOT to, but I know he'll need to. My port is right in the path of the knife. I didn't have it moved for my LBL, but this time I think there is no escape. I did email him about my fears and he promised me he'd take good care of my "baby".
I guess I'll be the veteran once your time comes.

He's funny when it comes to the port. He was so adamant that he wouldn't even look at it! He made me laugh! I'd love to get alow profile port. I wonder if he'd change mine to a low profile port.
I know what you mean about about wanting to take care of your band. I have the same fears! I want to live without depending on it, but I fear my life without it! My port to the left of my med section. I wonder if he will have to move mine.

Nope. He was able to leave my port in place. It does stick out a tiny bit, but I am totally ok with that. I really didn't want it moved unless absolutely necessary. The last thing I wanted to worry about with all the other healing I had to do was my band.
How are you doing with your weight loss? Are you almost ready for your next round of ps???

the weight loss is coming along. slowly but surely.
I am ready to schedule the next round, but I'm kind of waiting til the end of the summer. I hate to be there when it's super hot!
I'm going to do the total face/neck/arm revision/and breast lift and aug.
Waist up this time around!
