Hi there couple questions for you guys....I am scheduled for a panniculectomy on 4-19 and wondered everyone's opinion on the vitamedica pre-surgery supplements arnica and bromelain???
Do these really help or make a difference?  I think they are expensive around 75-100 bucks and don't want to shell out the $ if not necessary.  Also do they maybe sell these elsewhere like super supplements or something where they may not be so spendy?
Also has anyone purchased compression garments from a company called DMI medical garments out of Arizona?  This is where my surgeon had me call to order my garment and wonder how they were?  Also just posted a question on the main board about another issue and surgery that I will have to have in the near future if anyone can help me with that....I am just needy today I guess, lol.

Hi!
I've had almost every procedure possible (having my last one next week) I can tell you that without a doubt, 100% the Arnica Montana and Bromelain make a BIG difference for me.  I buy them from VitaMedica.com.  I'm just going to order more Bromelain for my surgery next week....

I'm not familiar with that garment company but they are all very similar and do the same job.  I live in my garment post-op and I believe that helps with keeping my swelling down too and helps the skin re-adhere to the tissue nice and smoothly.

Best wishes on your upcoming procedure

Yes I take both.
Some Dr's have you start the Bromelain 3 days before surgery and then continue for the next 10 days or so.....but others don't want you to start until after surgery so you need to ask your surgeon.

Bromelain is especially good for swelling and Arnica is especially good for bruising.  FYI - you need to get the Bromelain WITH Quercetin (it really helps with the swelling).  The box says take 2 pills 3x a day but I take 3 pills 3x a day ...I'm not saying you should do the same but it works well for me.

You can buy both as a set...here's a link  shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl;jsessionid=0a010b441f43e1ced6ee6f 32438b9dddf2e0da8017c4.e3eSbNyQc3mLe34Pa38Ta38Ma3b0

Hope that helps.

My surgeon gave me these to start a few days before the surgery as part of my total care package. He is also providing me with the compression garments (2 sets), vitamins, a lotion for the scar, a lotion for the skin....there is a whole REGIME I'm supposed to follow both pre and post op.

BTW: I'm having a TT (extended), lipo and breast lift along with scar revision on April 9th.
