Help.. Plastic surgeon in Tampa Bay area
I am 5 yrs post up and I am over the excess skin. Does anyone know of a Plastic Surgeon in the Tampa Bay area who is truly does body contouring? It is very hard to find a great Plastic surgeon who knows how to deal with all the excess skin from bariatric patients. I am looking to have a LBL and brachioplasty.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am hoping to have surgery in May.
I would like to say thanks to all of you who post all the good and the bad of plastic surgery. It really helps those considering different procedures.
Have a wonderful day!
I have a friend who has uses Dr. Albear and she looks great! Hopefully she'll be along to chime in. She has only had good thnigs to say about him. Here's a link to his web site.

I was going to tell you the same thing Renee told you.
Also, not sure were you live (I'm about 40 miles north of Tampa) but if you don't mind traveling north to Ocala I can tell you all about my surgeon......I love him....he's done some great work for me and a few other folks on this forum.
PM me if you want his info....

Yes he does the LBL....I had mine done in December 2009.
He does combine some procedures as long as it is safe and medically sound to do so. For example...I'm having my Inner Thighs (long incision) and my arms done together next week.
A lot would depend on the individual patients health and surgical needs. I would highly recommend him as a surgeon.

Surgery dates really depend on what you are having done and how busy the surgeon is at any given time. My guy is getting busier and busier.....you might be lucky and get an appointment within a month (don't forget you have pre-op tests you need to do before surgery so it is never a 'right away' thing), but then you might have to wait 6 weeks or longer.
I've been pretty fortunate and I plan ahead....as I'm recovering from one procedure I start talking bout the next and reserve a date by putting down a deposit so I never have to wait too long once I'm recovered.
Recovery varies.....depends on the procedure........and there is a difference between being somewhat fully recovered and being well enough to take care of things and go back to work. PLUS it really takes 6 months to a year to see your final results.
After my TT I was feeling fine after 2 weeks...pretty much recovered after 10 weeks
After my 1st Brachioplasty I didn't feel pretty close to normal until week 6 and recovery took more than 3 months.
After my Butt Lift/Outer Thighs, I felt pretty good after about 4 weeks but still am not "back to normal"...I cannot run yet because the "bouncing" is pulling too much on the incisions.
I'm having my Inner Thighs done next week and I expect to be pretty much laid-up for 2 weeks and not back to daily walks for probably 6 weeks (I'm guessing).
Anyhow....sure hope I answered your question and didn't confuse things even more....some times I ramble on and on and on.....
Feel free to ask questions.
FYI - i have details postings on my blog about each procedure and how it was during the first few weeks.....you can read them if you want to....sometimes I get fuzzy now with exactly how I was with each procedure (I've had so many...LOL)

I am going to have a TT done by Dr. Diaco in a month. I interviewed Dr . Albear who I liked a lot as well as Dr. Eberbach. Dr Eberbach wanted to do lipo and a TT but Albear and Diaco said only a TT...Diaco is really well know for BAs so I hope he does well with my tummy tuck. A good friend used him and was totally satisfied with him, altho he doesn't have the best bedside manner. I hope I made a good decision picking him. I will let you know when I am done with my surgery!!
thanks for all the suggestions. Let me know how the TT goes. I have found a lot of great surgeons here that do basic TT, BL, BA but when it comes to the LBL... not many are qualified to do it. I will look into Diaco and Eberbach too. If anyone has any others I am not opposed to interviewing for the right one!
